Prosecutors Detail Graphic Allegations in D4vd Murder Case
Court documents released by Los Angeles County prosecutors have revealed disturbing new details in the ongoing murder case against musician David Anthony Burke, known professionally as D4vd. According to legal documents obtained by The California Post, Burke allegedly stabbed Rivas multiple times inside his Los Angeles home following an argument. Investigators claim that after the killing, he purchased two chainsaws and other tools online, which were later recovered from his residence. Prosecutors allege that Burke used the chainsaws to dismember Rivas’ body inside his garage, placing an inflatable pool on the floor to contain blood and biological evidence.
Detectives reported finding traces of Rivas’ DNA in the garage, along with tool marks and evidence consistent with the use of cutting instruments. Surveillance footage and online purchase records are said to corroborate the timeline of events described in the prosecution’s case.
Rivas’ remains were discovered on September 8, 2025, inside the front trunk of a Tesla registered to Burke. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner determined that she died from multiple stab wounds and classified the death as a homicide.
Burke has pleaded not guilty to all charges, including murder, desecration of human remains, and unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. His defense team maintains that he did not kill Rivas and that the prosecution’s narrative is based on circumstantial evidence. They have requested that the court suppress certain forensic findings, arguing that investigators mishandled key evidence.
The case has drawn widespread attention due to Burke’s prominence in the music industry and the shocking nature of the allegations. Prosecutors have stated that they intend to seek a life sentence if Burke is convicted. The trial is expected to begin later this year, with pretrial hearings scheduled for June.
Officials have urged the public to avoid speculation as the judicial process continues, emphasizing that Burke remains presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
