The Jungle is Calling: Style Saves brings free uniforms and school essentials to every South Florida kid

Style Saves Kids

For many families and communities across South Florida, August brings a mix of excitement and stress. The kids are ready to go back to school, but parents know the reality: uniforms, backpacks, school supplies, shoes. The costs add up fast, and for many families, it’s simply too much. But this weekend, there’s a solution that’s been changing lives for 16 years.

Style Saves transforms the Miami Beach Convention Center into an immersive jungle adventure on Saturday, August 8, and Sunday, August 9, and here’s the most important part: everything is completely FREE. New uniforms, school supplies, sneakers, backpacks, delicious meals, and a range of activities and resources, at no cost to any students who needs them. “Every child should be excited about their first day of school,” says Rachael Russell Saiger, Style Saves President and Founder. “A student walks in, tries on something new, and suddenly stands a little taller. That transformation never gets old.”

An Event for Everyone – No Barriers, No Shame

What makes Style Saves different is its approach: this doesn’t feel like charity. It’s a celebration center into a joyful space filled with bounce houses, activity stations, a petting zoo, a DJ, and even a customization station where students can personalize their backpacks and uniforms.

Since its founding, Style Saves has served more than 250,000 students and families, becoming the largest back-to-school giveaway in the country. The event reaches children in migrant camps, homeless shelters, and foster care, alongside families who simply cannot absorb the mounting costs of a new school year.

More than Uniforms: Food to take Home

For the first time, the event will feature a food hall sponsored by Sodexo, with on-site meals from partners including Jimmy John’s, Pinecrest Bakery, Bubbice, Pura Vida, and more. But what really makes a difference for families is the new marketplace, where they can shop for snacks and gorceries to take home, including products from Goya, Planet Harvest, Goodles, and other partners.

“This means families can make delicious home-cooked meals together using fresh produce and staple pantry items,” explains Isabela Rangel Grutman, Style Saves Vice President. “South Florida has shown up for these students year after year, and thanks to that commitment, we’ve been able to serve more than 250,000 students over the last 16 years.”
