Chilean musician Nicolás “Dubi” Rubio is introducing a new chapter in his artistic journey with CONOSUR, a musical project built around collaboration, creative freedom, and the connection between different cultures, influences, and sounds.
The project’s first releases, “Visions,” became available on August 28. Rather than following the boundaries of a single genre, the new single introduces CONOSUR as an open-ended artistic space where different ideas and musical perspectives can meet.

Rather than following the rules of a specific musical category, CONOSUR was created as an open space for experimentation. The project brings together different sound, ideas, and perspectives, allowing each song to develop its own identity.
“Visions” represents that approach. The single explores a range of sounds without committing to one specific category, allowing the track to develop its own identity. For CONOSUR, the goal is not to fit neatly into an established style, but to experiment, connect, and create something that feels authentic to the moment.
More Music on the Way

The release also marks the beginning of a larger rollout for the project. CONOSUR plans to release two additional singles in the coming weeks before introducing its self-titled album on September 18. Each release will reveal another side of the project’s sound and offer listeners a deeper look into the creative world Rubio is building.
Together, the songs will form a broader recorrido, with each track serving as part of a larger artistic journey. The rollout is designed to show how CONOSUR continues to evolve through new collaborations, changing influences, and an ongoing search for fresh ways to connect with listeners.
From Santiago to Chicago

The project’s philosophy is closely tied to Rubio’s own background. Born and raised in Santiago, Chile, Rubio began developing his relationship with music at an early age. When he was 13, his mother gave him his first electric guitar, an experience that helped shape the path he would later pursue as a musician.
At 20, Rubio moved to Chicago to study music and continue developing his craft. His experience between Chile and the United States contributed to the cross-cultural perspective that now defines CONOSUR. The project reflects a desire to bring different worlds into conversation through sound, without limiting the music to one place, genre, or expectation.
A Space for Collaboration
CONOSUR was created as a space for musicians and creators to collaborate freely. Its sound draws from multiple influences and celebrates the possibility of building something new from those connections. The project’s emphasis on collaboration also gives each release room to grow and change, making the overall musical identity a work in progress.
In that sense, “Visions” is both a single and an introduction. It presents listeners with the first look at a project designed to evolve with every song, collaboration, and new idea. Rather than offering a finished formula, CONOSUR invites audiences to enter the process and discover the music as it unfolds.
The project also carries a message about the role of music in bringing people together. By moving across genres and cultural influences, CONOSUR creates a space where different perspectives can meet. The result is a propuesta that values curiosity, experimentation, and the freedom to create without borders.
With two more singles on the way and the self-titled album scheduled for September 18, CONOSUR is beginning to define its place in a growing musical universe. For Rubio, the project is not about choosing one category or staying inside a single lane. It is about building puentes between sounds, people, and ideas, one release at a time.
